Perry Leroy Anderson

Perry Leroy Anderson, Jr., 78, of Newark, died Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at his home. He was born June 4, 1933 in Newark to the late Perry and Catherine (Amsbough) Anderson, Sr. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and retired from Halophane with forty four years of service. He was a life member of American Legion Post #85 and enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing and hunting. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by brothers Eugene ‘Toad’, Raymond and sister Nancy. He is survived by Z. Jean (Neville) Anderson, his wife of fifty eight years, four children Perry (Abby) Anderson III, Raymond, David and Melba, grandchildren Timothy, Jamie, Katrina Jewell, Tanya Skildman, Toni Lynn, Jennifer, Eugene ‘Toad’, Elizabeth Donaldson, siblings Marvin ‘Butch’ (Shelby), Mary Maggart, Maxine Saunders, Linda Van Gundy and Wanda Walker, many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews, especially Crystal and Jamie, numerous friends. Family will receive friends today from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 179 Granville St., where a funeral service will be held Friday at 10 AM.
