Peter B. Burnside

Peter William Burnside, age 80, passed away on September 15, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Peter is preceded in death by his parents; Mary and Lewis Burnside of Columbus Ohio. Pete/Bill was a wonderful and caring husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 59 years; Marian K. (Robinson), children; Katherine (John) Bazzoni and Stephen Burnside, granddaughters; Bailey and Brogan Burnside, siblings; Phillips B. (Christel) Burnside and Anne Kilburn, Brother-in-law; Dr. Peter (Tish) Robinson, Sister-in-law: Harriet Robinson, and extended family. Pete was a graduate of Columbus North High School, class of 1953 and The Ohio State University, class of 1959. After graduation he served in the US Army and the National Guard Reserve from 1958 to 1965. Pete was a loyal employee of Wheeling Corrugating Company Division of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Company for 42 years; retiring in 2001. After full-time retirement he went to work part-time for Deckster Supply Company of New Carlisle, Ohio. Pete enjoyed spending many hours officiating at Central Ohio swim meets for high schools and colleges. The family would like to thank the staff of The Forum for their compassionate care during this difficult time. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
