On June 17, 2013, Peter D. Chalmers passed away in Dublin, Ohio from complications of a broken leg and pneumonia. Peter was born in Stockton, CA on March 19, 1927 to David Merle and Audrey May (formerly Alverson) Chalmers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara June, formerly Trickey, and sister, Nevada May Beanland. Peter is survived by his one son, Jeffrey John, of Columbus, OH, who with his wife Julie has three children: Jason, Philip, and Ruth. Peter will be interred in Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette, CA. The family extends their thanks to the staff of Friendship Village of Dublin for their compassionate care of Peter. Peter will always be remembered for his love of baseball and watching his grandchildren grow, Scottish stubbornness (i.e. living with type 1 diabetes for almost 70 years!), and lively personality. He turned his love of baseball into a career in middle school teaching, coaching and working for the City of Concord, CA Department of Recreation. Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger Northwest Chapel.
