Philip Robert Horstman, 58, of Lewis Center, OH has found peace after a heroic 6 year battle with kidney cancer on Saturday, August 05, 2017. He was born July 23, 1959 in Lima, OH to the late Alfred and Leona (Roof) Horstman. Philip was a graduate of Ottoville High School, Ottoville, OH and started working at GTE Sylvania, Ottawa, OH in 1977. Following graduation from The Ohio State University Phil worked for UPS for 35 years. He was a member of Powell United Methodist Church and enjoyed many outdoor athletic pursuits. He was an avid Buckeye fan. Phil is survived by Debi his loving wife of 25 years, children Andrew (fiancé Alexandra O'Brien), Kristina and Richard, brothers Alfred Jr. (Sandy), John (Shirley), Stephen (Virginia), Dennis (Tricia), Gary (Angela Westbeld) and Dale (Carolyn) all of Putnam County, OH, numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St. (1/2 mile south of I-270). Funeral service will be held Friday, August 11, 2017 at 10 AM at Powell United Methodist Church, 825 E. Olentangy St., Powell, OH 43065. Interment to follow at Kingwood Memorial Park.
