Phillip "Flipper Dog" Muir left us on the February 5, 2014 at the age of 51. Proud of where he came from up to his final minutes with us. He took his last ride up to the pearly gates to join his father, Emerson "Jack" and mother Mary "Barbara" Muir. He is survived by his wife of 22 years Doris (Jester); children, Bryan (Jessica) Stevenson, Todd, Chelsea and Jonathan; also the joys of his life, his grandchildren, Jayde, Kyrah and Emerson. Phillip was the youngest brother amongst eight siblings, James (Judy) Muir, Judy (Norm) Parrish, Pam (Don) Dolby, Kate (Bill) Brintlinger , David Muir, Shelley (Rick) Dulin, Barbie (Chris) Marchese. Flip had his own way of doing things throughout his life and career. He put his talents to work as his own boss at Muir Plumbing-Mechanical. Rich in friends and relationships, he was a true character, best known for his trademark raspy voice. There weren't many places he could go where someone didn't know his name. Phillip was also known for his big heart and gravitation for good times, always helping a cause or opening his door to a friend in need. He cherished his time with his family, kids and grandkids. Everyone knew when uncle Flipper Dog showed up. Friends and Family are asked to come bring Flipper Dog back to the West Side for one last time. Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 9, 2014 between the hours of 1-4 and 6-8pm at Schoedinger Hilltop Chapel, 3030 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204. Funeral service 11:30am Monday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 2364 W. Mound Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204 with Deacon George Zimmermann, Jr. officiating. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers feel free to donate to the Wounded Warrior Project in his name. Please visit www.schoedinger.com to share memories or extend condolences.
