Phyllis M. Michel

Phyllis M. Michel, age 92, of Worthington passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Darby Glen Nursing Home. Phyllis was born on July 17, 1918 in Huntsville, Ohio; she was the daughter of Herman and Donna Norviel. Phyllis is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard P. Michel. Phyllis was a graduate of Bellefontaine High School and went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University in Dietetics. While at Ohio State she was involved in Kappa Delta Sorority and was still active in the OSU Alumni. After college she was a dietician for a few years at The Ohio State University Hospital. She then stayed at home to raise her 3 adored children. She was a member of the American Dietetic Association, Eastern Star and the Dental Auxiliary. Phyllis was a student for life; she was always learning and enjoyed history, the arts and sports. She was a proud grandma “M” and loved children. Phyllis will be remembered for her positive attitude and vigor for life. She is survived by her children, Rod Michel of San Diego, CA, Glen (Kathryn) Michel of Jerome, MI and Jois (Michael) Henry of Worthington; and grandchildren, Danica, Caitlin, Keegan, Jacqui and Garret. A memorial service for Phyllis will take place on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 10am, where family will receive friends one hour prior at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 North High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085; Andrew Hoover celebrant. Interment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The Colonial Williamsburg Fund Post Office Box 1776
