Phyllis Allen Owen

Phyllis Allen Owen, 81 of Upper Arlington, passed away May 30, 2012. Phyllis was born in Greenfield, Ohio, daughter of the late Roland T. and Emily Fullerton Allen. Also preceded in death by her siblings, James Allen and Ellen White. Phyllis graduated from Upper Arlington High School, Class of 1948, Stephens College, Class of 1950, and The Ohio State University. Following college, Phyllis married the love of her life, Edgar J. (“Jim”) Owen, on September 6, 1952, and the two of them went on to begin their family and share in 59 years of marriage. Phyllis was a kind and loving wife and mother, who approached each day with a beautiful smile. She loved her dogs, and enjoyed painting, gardening, and time spent vacationing at Lake Erie and Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania. Phyllis found great strength in the Lord and was an active member of First Alliance Church. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Jim; children, James D. (Sue Ann) Owen and Jennifer L. Owen; grandchildren, David Nathan Owen and Bonnie Sarah (Benjamin) Zeff; brothers-in-law, Richard S. Owen and William V. (Eileen) Owen; and many other extended family members and dear friends.
