

Ralph John Johnson, also known as "RJ", 83 years old, from Worthington, Ohio, passed away on July 16, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Ralph was born on December 17, 1934 in Chicago Illinois, son of the late John Jacob Johnson and Helen Alice (Fields) Johnson. Ralph proudly served in the United States Air Force in Special ops as a Nuclear Weapons Specialist overseas in Japan and Morocco, Africa during the Korean Conflict. Ralph retired from F.W. Woolworth after 36 years of service. He was very devoted to F.W. Woolworth starting out as a stock boy sweeping floors and went all the way up to a General Manager for the State of Ohio Woolworth stores. Ralph enjoyed Family and Friends, fishing, gardening his tomatoes, Morel Mushroom hunting and eating, Ohio State Football and Basketball, Chicago Bears professional football, Chicago Black Hawks and Blue Jackets Hockey, and splitting and stacking wood until he was 80 ½ years old. In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his twin who died at birth, his brother Carl Johnson, and sister-in-law Selena Harper. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Helen M. (Harper) Johnson; daughter Terri S. (Johnson) Lanning; grandsons: John - Michael C Lanning and Max E. Lanning; granddaughter Megan L. Lanning; great - grandson John - Michael "Blaze" Lanning; sister Betty LaMotte; brother- in-law Dan Harper; sister - in law Carolyn (Harper) Johnson; nephews: Micha Harper, Jeremy Harper, Joey Harper; nieces: Ann Goodlett, Sandy Crandall, Lisa LaMotte. A visitation will be held on Saturday July 21, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm with the funeral service at 4 pm at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel 6699 North High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085.
