Randy C. Brown

Randall C. Brown, age 61, of Upper Arlington passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, March 3, 2011. Randy was born in Columbus on February 19, 1950 to the late William and Edna “Pat” Brown. He was a graduate of Upper Arlington High School, and received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Si. Randy earned a Master’s degree in Education from The Ohio State University. He retired after 30 years in the Buckeye Valley School system, where he taught primarily junior high science and math. Randy was an avid reader, an animal lover, and enjoyed traveling, especially during his retirement years. He is survived by his loving companion of 25 years, Jan Bartlett and her daughters, La Tina Bartlett and Melissa Salyer; his aunt, Jean Ludwig, whom he loved and cherished as a second mother; cousins, Susan and Phil Mallers, Bob King, and Jean Holmes; and his lifelong, childhood friend, Earl Hill. Funeral Services for Randy will be held at 1pm Friday, March 11, 2011 at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, OH 43221 where family will receive friends beginning at 12pm; Pastor John Hickman officiating; interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio.
