

Raymond R. Ballard, age 96, of Columbus, Ohio passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015 after a battle with cancer. He was born May 1, 1919 in Grove City. Raymond was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran and retired from Artglo, where he was employed as an electrician. In his younger years, Raymond enjoyed square dancing and going to the lake, where he and his family enjoyed fishing. He and Ruth, his wife of 69 years, loved to travel together to Florida, Gatlinburg, and Hawaii. Raymond was a member of the Whitehall Church of the Nazarene, where he had served as a head usher, Sunday School Superintendent, choir member and grounds custodian. Along with his wife Ruth, he was preceded in death by his son, Paul William "Bill" Ballard; parents, Daniel and Lottie Ballard; brother Daniel Ballard and sister Mary Catherine Feasel. Raymond will be missed by his daughter, Donna (Kenny) Seely; son, Ron (Kelly) Ballard; daughter-in-law, Janet Ballard; grandchildren, Londa Jean Ballard, Gary Ballard, Jennifer (Chris) Tackett, and Jessica Ballard; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Heaven, Hope, Grace and Kayden; good friend Fay Steele. Family will receive friends Sunday, May 17, 2015 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, and again on Monday from 10am until the time of procession at 11am to Concord Cemetery, 6244 Hoover Rd., Grove City, where graveside services will be held at 12 Noon, Pastor Rodney P. Kuhn, officiating. Raymond's family would like to extend a special thank you to National Church Residences Hospice and Tammy Daughtery for their loving care.
