

Rebecca “Alice” Peters, age 92, was welcomed home by her Lord on Friday, March 30, 2012. She was born in Vinton County, Ohio, on September 9, 1919, to the late Scott and Flora (Gibbs) McGlaughlin. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Roy” Peters; son-in-law, Arlie; daughter-in-law, Shirley; and siblings, Beryl and Bessie. Alice is survived by her children, Ivan Peters, Betty (Jerry) Gronbach, Irene Brown, Larry (Nancy) Peters, Floyd Peters, and Lloyd (Linda) Peters; 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Laura McGlaughlin and Josie Peters; and several nieces and nephews, especially Sharon Schoonover who was like another daughter to her. She was a member of Southwest Free Will Baptist Church, and she will be remembered for her homemade bread. Alice loved flowers and gardening, and she enjoyed crocheting afghans. Above all, she will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she will be deeply missed. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at the SCHOEDINGER NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Southwest Free Will Baptist Church, 1542 Greenleaf Road, Columbus, with Pastor John Meade, Sr., officiating.
