

Richard (Dick) H. Greiner, Columbus and Naples, Florida, born October 30, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio, passed away July 14, 2016. The son of a West Point colonel, who took his family to Biloxi, Mississippi. It was here that he fell in love with sailing and had his first sail boat, beginning his life- long love of the water. Dick attended Biloxi High School, Castle Heights Military Academy and then home to Bexley High School where he reconnected with the love of his life, Barbara Hutchinson. Both attended Ohio State University, where Dick was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. They lived most of their lives in Dublin, Ohio where they raised their children, Todd and Tina. Dick was a founding member of Muirfield Village Golf Club, and was proud to have been the second person to have a hole in one there. He was a past member of Columbus Country Club, Catawba Island Club and Black Cats Investment Club. While wintering in Naples, he enjoyed memberships at Naples Sailing and Yacht Club and Royal Poinciana Golf Club. He was a founder/owner/partner of Pipe Valves, Inc. Preceded in passing by his father, Colonel Russell V. Eastman, mother Helen H. Eastman and brother William J. Greiner. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Barbara, daughter Kristina and son Todd, along with grandsons Will, Blake (Madison) and Reid. Also, sister Cynthia Bothwell, brothers-in-law Darrell Hutchinson (Fran) and Richard Hutchinson (Sue), and sister-in-law Sheila Milne. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Broad Street Presbyterian Church, 760 E. Broad St., followed by a reception/celebration at Columbus Country Club.
