

Richard E. Robinson, age 81, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at Grant Medical Center. Dick was born in Columbus, OH on July 28, 1933 to the late Richard B. and Claire M. (Hawkins) Robinson. After graduating from high school, Dick enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and honorably served his country during the Korean conflict. He met and married the love of his life, Annabelle Kiraly Robinson. Together, they raised seven children and enjoyed an incredible journey together for more than five decades. Dick was a pioneer, entrepreneur, developer, and well respected member of the Grove City community. He was one of five entrepreneurs that founded and owned the motel chain, Red Roof Inns and was Senior VP of Construction for 20 years. In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his grandson, Ian J. Evans. He is survived by his beloved wife, Annabelle Robinson; their children, Karen (Rodney) Evans, Richard (Barbara) Robinson, Deborah (Patrick) Shafer Lewis, William Robinson, Anita (Curtis) George, Kathleen (Chris) Anthony, and Matthew (Heidi) Robinson; grandchildren, Candice Evans, Richie Robinson, Jimmy Robinson, Katie Robinson, Ryan Shafer, Megan Shafer Gabriel, Jack Shafer, Jessica Robinson, Dylan Robinson, Aidan Robinson, Annabel Anthony, Justice Robinson, Gwynneth Robinson, and Alyssa Gaston; great grandchildren, Nichols Shafer, Lorin Gabriel, Violet Goltz, and Melanie Yamada; sisters, Jean Marilyn (James) Sheedy, Claire Jane (William) O'Neil, Nancy Ann (Richard) Henry, and Mary Louise Krallman and many extended family members and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 am Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3730 Broadway, where the Robinson family will receive friends from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.
