Richard "Poppy" Rowe

Richard “Poppy” Rowe, Sr., age 79 passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Mount Carmel Medical Center. Richard was born on June 1, 1931 in Keyser, WV. He retired from the US Navy after 23 years of service to his country. He also retired from the US Postal Service, and the VA Medical Center in Chillicothe, OH. His family will truly miss his love and support. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; sons, Richard Jr., and Reginald Rowe; sister, Elizabeth Redmond, Charlotte Hurst and Mary “Mate” Phillips, one brother Thomas Rowe and foster child Sara Parker. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Gwendolyn Rowe, daughters, Evangeline Speigth of Baltimore, MD, Tanya Rowe-Beasley of Antioch, CA, Marichal Armstead, Ruth Ealy, son Kevin Ealy of Columbus; cousin, Mary Pulice of Steubanville, OH; foster children, Jonathon (Ty) Parks, Cyria Parks and Terizabeth Marshall of Columbus; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, friends and families. Friends may call from 3-7pm, Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Schoedinger Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W. Broad St.
