

Rita Barbara Snow Robinson was born on her father's birthday, November 25, 1917. She died March 30, 2017 at the age of 99 years, 4 months and 5 days - she was trying hard for that 100th Birthday. The youngest of 10 children born to Allie Snow and Margaret "Maggie" Powers. She grew up in an Irish family living in German Village, Columbus, Ohio and attended South High School. When she was a teenager a neighborhood friend whom she grew up with, Morris Lee Evens introduced her to his cousin Marvin Eugene Robinson, who lived in Plain City but often came to Columbus to visit family. The only boyfriend she ever had. They where married on June 8, 1935. With 69 1/2 years of marriage, Marvin passed away in 2004. They had 5 children. Norman Leroy (Shirley) and Kathryn Kay Robinson (Carl) Smith, are in Heaven with Marvin and now enjoying a great reunion. Their surviving children include: Margaret Alice Robinson, Barbara Jo Robinson-McClure, and Kenneth Eugene (Kathleen) Robinson. Rita is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson, also her nephew Tommy Thornton and niece Virginia Cooper-White. Her life was dedicated to her family, and her extended family, many of whom also called her Grandma. Rita was a lifelong member of St. John's Church. A funeral service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday April 4, 2017 at Hope and Heart Funeral Home by Schoedinger, 3030 West Broad Street, Columbus Ohio, where friends will be received from 10-11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Forest Memorial Gardens. Grandma was a breast cancer survivor and lost her daughter Kathy to breast cancer in 1991. In lieu of flowers she would request that you make a donation to breast cancer research in their names. The family wishes to thank the staff of Eastland Care Center for caring for grandma for the last 4 years, as well as Bella Care Hospice for their support in her last days.
