

Robert "Bob" Carr Barnhart, 66 of Columbus, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 3, 1946 in Columbus to the late C. Ray and Helen (Mitten) Barnhart. He was a 1964 graduate of West High School, retired with 30 years from AEP and a U.S. National Guard veteran. He was a member of West Gate Masonic Lodge #623, West Gate Chapter #216, West Gate Council #129, Mt. Vernon Commandery #1, Aladdin Shrine Columbus, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, Frank A. Nicklaus #208, Allied Masonic Degrees, Thomas Smith Webb #192, York Rite College, Honorary Member Scioto Commandery #35, West Columbus Jaycees and South Side Columbus Jaycees. He is survived by Charlyn (Gilbert) Barnhart, his loving wife of 33 years, sisters Barbara (Bill) Cooke and Linda (Jim) Lowry, children Melissa (Randy) Hanna, Robert C. (Kelly) Jr., Michelle (Jim) Campbell, Cindy (Kevin) McCafferty, Jennifer (Anthony) Barnhart, eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, numerous extended family and friends. Family will receive friends Thursday from 5-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad, where a memorial service will be held Friday at 10 AM.
