

Bob Brockmeyer "Mr. Wonderful" age 83 of New Albany, Ohio was surrounded by family and devoted friends before he was called home to be with the Lord on July 14, 2019. He was born July 7 and 8, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio, a graduate of Central High School, class of 1956. Bob will be missed by his loving wife of 62 years, Joyce (Williams) Brockmeyer; daughter Sandy (Ron) Rizek, son Mark (Jennifer) Brockmeyer; sisters Carolyn Isaac and Pearl Ward; brother Charles (Wanda) Brockmeyer; grandchildren Jennifer Rizek, Jason (Jennifer) Brockmeyer, Robert (Leigh Ann) Rizek, Shawn (Carolyn) Stebleton, Nathan Stebleton, Rachel (Tyler) Leavitt, Kevin (Natalie) Brockmeyer, and Dustin Brockmeyer. Grandpa will also be greatly missed by his 15 great-grandchildren, scores of loving nieces, nephews, and close and devoted family friends. In addition to his parents Henry and Pearl (Barr) Brockmeyer, he was preceded in death by his daughter Tamara Brockmeyer; brothers Glen Brockmeyer and David Brockmeyer; sister Mary Remy.
Bob worked for Columbus Auto Parts and started a second career working for the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation as an Industrial Safety Consultant Supervisor. During his career he wrote the 1st manual for machine guarding safety protection. He joined his wife Joyce in retirement from full time employment in 1998, then continued to work part-time as a safety consultant and teaching Industrial safety all over the world. He received numerous awards during his lifetime for his expertise in OHSA codes. He was a member of the UAW, Columbus Fly Town Club, New Albany Lions Club and was politically active his whole life. Bob was most proud of his contributions in supporting Senator John Glen and John F. Kennedy during their inaugural campaigns. His hobbies included, mastering wood working of all sorts, making jewelry, doing an assortment of crafts, and spending as much time as he could with his family. He took pride in his work by sharing them with everyone; no one was a stranger and all were welcome in his home.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:30AM with Patrick Bailey. Committal will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
