

Barbara A. Calhoon, 85, passed away November 23, 2010, with her family by her side at the Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, Florida. Robert P. Calhoon, 86, passed away November 29th, 2010 at the Winterhaven Hospital, in Florida joining his loving wife, Barbara, of 63 years at their final resting place. Barbara was born on July 31, 1925 in Manchester, New Hampshire to Leland and Edith Foster. Robert was born on September, 30, 1924 in Columbus, Ohio to Clair H. and Virginia Powell Calhoon. They raised their family, Patricia A. Eakins (Scott) of Hilliard, Ohio, William D. Calhoon (Karla) of Worthington, Ohio and Virginia M. Potter of Jensen Beach, FL., in Columbus, Ohio. Bob served in the Air Force during WWII, and after attending OSU, he became an EEG Technician for a private doctor in Columbus. Barbara was very active at Linden Lutheran Church, in addition to her teacher's assistant position in the Columbus Public Schools. Robert and Barbara volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Lung Association, even receiving a special recognition for their long time service as volunteers. They have resided in Frostproof, FL. since 1998. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, Richard Foster (Phyllis). Robert is preceded in death by his wife Barbara, his mother, father, and brothers, Thomas (Carmen), James and William. They are survived by their three children; five grandchildren, Heather Eakins, Shannon Eakins, Amy Meadows, Adam Calhoon and Stephanie Potter, and two great grandsons, Braeden and Brooks White. Barbara is also survived by her sisters Virginia Furbish of Springfield, VA., Marion Furbish, of Deltona, FL. and her brothers David Foster of N. Truro, MA. and Ronald Foster of Columbus, MS. Robert is also survived by his sister Maggie Montgomery of Sunrise, FL. Barbara will be missed by all who knew her for her kind, gentle, caring, ways. All of Robert’s family will miss his strength, guidance and calming ways. A Memorial Service will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Monday until time of service. Rev. Dr. G. Karl Gatson, of Linden Lutheran Church officiating. Inurnment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
