Robert Bruce Carter

Robert Bruce Carter, age 79, of Grove City, Ohio passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 after a long illness. He was a member of Grace of God Lutheran Church and the Grove City Masonic Lodge, Moose Lodge 11. He attended Newark High and Amada Clearcreek and served in Marine Corp Air wing VMF244 from 1954-1962. He owned Carter Drywall and Texture Team. He also loved playing Santa with his Mrs. at various places throughout Columbus. He also enjoyed going to car shows with his 1962 Metropolitan which won many awards. He also took pleasure in feeding the birds, working jigsaw puzzles, and riding his golf cart in the neighborhood.

He was preceded in death by parents Charles Carter and Leona Hope; and brothers Richard and Douglas Carter. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Karen Fridley Carter; children Diana (Mark) Garrett, Donald (Brenda) Carter, Threasa Mernedakis, Tonya Leasure, Richard (Krista) Carter, Jerry Wright, and Nikki Wright; siblings Dona Riedmiller, Sharon Sherrod, and Nicholas (Pam) Burgess; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Schoedinger Grove City Chapel 3920 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 10am at Grace of God Lutheran Church 1000 Demorest Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43204. Pastor Mark Diemer officiating.
