Robert Eugene Jones

Robert E. Jones, age 83 of Upper Arlington, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Bob was born in Columbus and grew up in Grandview, son of the late Claude and Wilma Jones. Bob was a US Army Veteran, graduated from Grandview High School, Class of 1951, The Ohio State University and worked in sales throughout his career. Following retirement, Bob began working part-time with Kroger. He stayed for 19 years and truly enjoyed talking and visiting with co-workers, customers and friends. Bob was a kind and honest man who made friends wherever he went. He was a sports fan, enjoying golf, tennis, handball and also liked to travel. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Janet Jones; children, Haven (Tim Meyer) Dennis and Brian (Tess) Jones; grandchildren, Brian and Aaron Dennis and Max, Grace, and Ben Jones; brother, Gary (Dee) Jones; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Stan) Laughlin; and many other extended family members and dear friends. A memorial service celebrating Bob's life will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, February 29, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where family will receive friends immediately following service until 5 P.M.
