Robert Anthony Lang

Robert A. Lang, age 93 of Gahanna, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013. Robert was born and raised in Columbus, son of the late Joseph and Anna Lang. Also preceded in death by his brother, Emmett (Ann) Lang. Robert graduated from New Albany High School, Class of 1939. Robert began his career with the Ohio Air National Guard in 1948 and retired in 1980 where he attained the rank of Master Sergeant, while attached to the 121st Tactical Fighter Wing, proudly served his country during the Berlin Crisis. Throughout the years, Robert earned numerous achievement awards and commendations; he was dedicated, dependable and was always willing to accept additional responsibility. Robert will be greatly missed by his loving sisters, Loretta Jane McCarty, Sister Colette Marie Lang, and Helen (Harold) Breitfeller; nephews, James (Janet), Carl (Wendy), and Robert (Tina) Breitfeller; nieces, Colette (Steve) Newton and Paula (Kurt) Meyers; and other extended family members and dear friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, 807 Havens Corners Rd. Family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Monday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., where a prayer vigil will begin at 7:45 P.M. Father Theodore K. Sill, Celebrant. Interment St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
