Robert Edward Layton 97, of Columbus, died Saturday, December 1, 2012. He was born January 25, 1915 in Newark, OH to the late Samuel and Pearl (Merrick) Layton. He graduated from high school in Newark, OH and was a veteran of WWII in the Signal Corps. He retired in 1980 as an electrician and was a member of Electrical Workers Union. He was a sweet guy with a nice smile and he enjoyed sports. He is preceded in death by his wife Violet (Baldwin) Layton and survived by niece Ann Huffman, great niece Trudy Fisher and good friends Lyle Hutton and Robert Hill. There will be no services.
