Robert N Martin

Robert (Bob) N. Martin, born April 21, 1923, peacefully entered his much-deserved Eternal Rest November 18, 2018 surrounded by his children. He is preceded in death by parents, AW (Hap) and Catherine Martin; Brothers, Bill (Twin), Ralph, and Jerry Martin; Sister, Marge Koontz; His beloved wife of 57 years, "Peaches"; and Son, Bobby Lee. Bob was a resident of Whitehall for 92 years, contributing much of his time to the growth of the city he loved. Bob and his wife are in the "Walk of Fame" at John Bishop Park, a member of the Whitehall Historical Society, named "Outstanding Citizen" city of Whitehall, and is a long-time member of Faith Lutheran Church. Bob also was a 32nd degree Mason and Scottish Rite and Member of NARVRE Unit 20. Bob retired from Penn Central Railroad (47 years), Martin Trucking Company (50 years), Whitehall School Bus Driver (25 years) and was one of the original Whitehall Volunteer Fireman for 15 years. He is survived by Faithful dog, Hope; Daughters, Jodie Martin Oiler, Bobbie Jo (Barry) Gapen, and Mary (Chuck) Thomas; Sons, Gary and Mike (Debi) Martin; 11 Grandchildren; 20 Great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren, many extended family members; cousin; Dot; nieces, nephews, and many friends. Family will receive visitors Monday, November 19, 2018 from 1:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM- 8:00PM with Masonic service at 7:30PM at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 East Livingston Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43232. Funeral service will be on Tuesday November 20, 2018 at 1:00PM at Faith Lutheran Church, 730 Collingwood Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43213 with visitation 1 hour prior to service.
