

Robert Lee Mason, 76, of Columbus, Ohio found himself on the "Highway to Heaven" on April 22, 2016. He was born November 25, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Chauncey and Elsie (Geiger) Mason; also preceded in death by his brother Gene Mason and his first wife of 43 years, Phyllis Mason. Bob remarried in 2005. He and his new bride, Patricia Seaton, were joined in matrimony in a fairy tale wedding that took place in Gallipolis City Park. They enjoyed ten wonderful years together. In addition to his beloved wife Patty, he is survived by his stepsons, Duane (fiancé Vickie Lockridge), John (Tamara Smith) and Kevin Seaton; cousins, extended family, and his puppy (daddy's girl)… Brandy. Throughout Bob's life he enjoyed the friendship of many special dogs. He was also a member of the Reynoldsburg F & AM Lodge #340. Most of Bob's life was spent on the "big road" as a trucker, known to many as "St. Bernard". He drove for Coca-Cola for over 30 years and then for Old Dominion. He travelled over 5 million miles with no accidents! Family and friends will gather for Bob's "Farewell Party" on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232 where services will be held at 1pm Friday. Opening Ceremony will be led by his brother Masons. Following the funeral service, interment will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens; Andrew Hoover, celebrant. Those who wish may contribute to the Capital Area Humane Society in Bob's memory.
