

Robert L. Morrison, age 81, passed peacefully into God’s care on January 25, 2021 following a 12-year struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born on July 11, 1939 to the late Raymond and Alice (Duke) Morrison. He retired from the City of Westerville after 34 years of service, the City of Sunbury after 2 years, and Burgess and Niple Engineering after 14 years. He was instrumental in organizing the Auxiliary unit of the Westerville Police Department, where he served as a Sergeant and Adjutant for 13 years. He was a member of the American Water Works Association for 44 years. He was also a member of the American Chemical Society, Ohio Lake Management Association, Ohio Utility Council, and Ohio Water Pollution Control Association. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who loved fishing, wood working, and gardening. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia (Richard) Cross and his niece, Diana Cross Strider. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol; daughters, Beth (Thomas) Flynn and Anne (Brett) Starkey; grandsons, Chris (SaraBeth) Flynn, Mason and Corbin Starkey; great-granddaughter, Autumn Flynn; brother, Phillip (Evelyn) Morrison; niece, Cheryl Holbrook; nephews, Jeffrey Cross and Chris Morrison; and many cousins and friends. Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 2-4pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 Johnstown Rd, Gahanna, OH 43230. Guests are respectfully asked to wear masks and attendance will be monitored to ensure safety for everyone attending. Due to the pandemic, a private Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 11am with Pastor Dan Scarberry officiating. A livestream of the service will be available on this page. Interment to follow at Jefferson Township Cemetery in Blacklick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation for the benefit of TWIG SW12.
