Robin Lee Steele

Robin Lee Steele, age 72, joined his Savior in Heaven on August 17, 2019. He passed peacefully surrounded by family at The Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. Robin was born on August 3, 1947 in Mason, West Virginia to his late parents, Harry and Martha (Burns) Steele. Also preceding him in death were his grandchildren Caitlin Rudowicz (Autumn Angel) and Samuel Lee Steele. Robin is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sharon Ann (Kidwell) Steele, his sons John Allen (Jennifer) Steele, Michael Scott (Kathy) Steele, Christopher Matthew (Sheila) Steele and 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Dan (Carol) Steele, Gary (Barbara) Steele, Patty (Harry) Lehman, Cinda Steele, Christina Ewing and Lori (Jeff Childers) Steele as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Robin graduated from Central High School and completed his associate degree at Franklin University. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force for seven years, including Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. Robin pursued a career as an electrical engineer and traveled extensively throughout the world in this field. His love for travel, coupled with his love for God, took him and his wife to numerous countries on mission trips where countless lives were touched. Church was also an important part of Robin's life. He served as a board member, a Junior Bible Quiz coach, quizmaster and sectional coordinator, a Royal Ranger Senior Commander and Sectional Commander. Robin thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. At home and abroad, Robin demonstrated how to serve others.

The Steele family would like to invite you to join us in celebrating Robin's life. The viewing will be held at Schoedinger Funeral Home in Gahanna on Friday, August 23rd, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. The funeral will be held at One Church in Gahanna on Saturday, August 24th, at 10am with a graveside service to follow at Obetz Cemetery. Flowers may be sent to Schoedinger Funeral Home at 1051 E.
