
Roger Overly Davis, age 89, of Upper Arlington, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 24, 2009 at the Forum of Knightsbridge Assisted Living. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucy (Armstrong) and daughter, Jayne Davis Knox, both in 2004. He is survived by his son, Scott (Jenny) Davis and daughter, Wendy (Roger Vaughan) and 8 grandchildren. He was born December 2, 1919 in Shaker Heights, Ohio. As a camper and a counselor, Roger attended Camp Manitou on Douglas Lake. It was at Douglas Lake at the age of 13, he met is beloved wife of 50 years but did not marry her until the age of 35 in 1954. Roger served courageously in the U.S. Army for 13 years as a pilot scouting enemy military installations during in WWII. After his return from the service, he finished his education in business at Case Western Reserve. Roger worked as an executive for Ohio Bell Telephone Company for 35 years. He was a 25 year member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction where he sang in the Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus choir. Roger enjoyed his monthly poker group and was a charter member of the Pic-Token Investment group. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. A memorial Service will be held at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road at 1:30 PM on Friday, November 27, 2009. A private interment will be held at Kingwood Memorial Park, Lewis Center, Ohio.
