Roger Joseph Scarpitti

Roger J. Scarpitti (“Scarps”), age 50, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on Thursday, August 17, 2017. He was born on June 16, 1967 in Greensburg, PA to the late Roger M. and Nancy (Bellissimo) Scarpitti. Roger grew up in Niles, Ohio. A 1985 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, he went on to earn a BS in Accounting from Robert Morris University. After college, he moved to Columbus and joined BMW Finance, where he was still employed. Roger was an avid sports fan--never missing a Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates or Ohio State Buckeyes game. By all accounts, he was a good man with a huge heart. His sense of humor, concern for others, generosity and kindness will be greatly missed by his sister, Leigh Ann Scarpitti; his pride and joy, nephew, Clay Leopold; his extended family; and his many friends, including his canine best friend, Raven. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221, for a celebration of life. A memorial service will be held at 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association, The American Cancer Society or Paws & Claws Animal Rescue, Inc. in Hebron, KY.
