Ronald A. Callander Sr.

Ronald A. Callander, Sr., age 87, of Columbus, died Tuesday, June 6, 2023. He was born October 3, 1935, son of the late Donald Butler Callander and Ellen Rankin (Nee Doughty). Ronald was the retired owner/ Chairman of Callander & Sons Inc. for over 30 years. He attended Roosevelt Junior High and was a 1954 graduate of South High School, where he was a 3 year starter for the track team and football team and an All –American athlete. Ronald would like to be remembered as the ultimate savvy businessman hard working six days a week. He was a member and past President of the Ohio Cleaners Association, long time member of the Great Lakes Cost Group, past member and treasurer of the Columbus Maennerchor and past member of the Southeast Lions Club. Preceded in death by parents Ellen Rankin and Donald B. Callander; brother, Donald L. Callander; sister, Linda Sue Sams and wife, Cheryl L. Callander. Survived by children; Ronnie Callander Jr., Jeffrey Callander, Mike Callander and daughter, Lynn A. Callander (wife, Amy S. Hinterschied); 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; niece, Lisa Callander-Adams; nephews, Brad Callander, Scott Sams and John Sams. There will be a Private Graveside Service at Glen Rest Memorial Estates, Reynoldsburg.
