
Ronald “Ronnie” G. Merriman, US Army Veteran, age 90, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025. Ronnie was born July 16, 1934, in Wharncliffe, West Virginia to the late Thomas Merriman and Nina Toler-Dheel. Ronnie is survived by loving wife of 64 years, Priscilla Nadine Merriman, daughters; Ronda (Christopher) Merriman-Burns, and Regina (Dean) Scheiderer, grandson, Cody Mayer, granddaughter, Callie Mayer, and numerous, nieces, nephews, and cousins along with other dear family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by, brothers, Sonny Staten and Bud Staten. Ronnie enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a truck driver with the Teamsters, earning a place in the prestigious Million Mile Club—an honor that speaks to his dedication, skill, and professionalism behind the wheel. More than anything, Ronnie loved his family, and that love shaped every part of his life. Known for his warm heart and easygoing spirit, he never met a stranger and had a gift for making people smile and laugh. He found joy in simple pleasures like fishing and working on cars, and he approached life with a quiet kindness and strength. His family remembers him as a gentle, loving soul who brought light and laughter wherever he went. Ronnie’s presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family will receive friends Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 11-12PM at SCHOEDINGER EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5360 E. Livingston Ave, with a memorial service to follow, at 12PM. Please share a memory or send condolences to Ronnie’s family.
