

Ronald Lee Showalter, 48, of Mechanicsburg, Ohio went home to be with the lord Tuesday, December 1, 2009 in his home at 1224am, surrounded by those he loved. Ron was born on August 24, 1961 in Alliance, Ohio.
Following graduation from Mechanicsburg High School in 1979, Ron served in the United States Army for four years. He was a long time truck driver, most recently employed by Auggie’s Auto Carriers Inc. Our father loved to be outdoors, He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being with family and friends. Filled with passion to up hold his duties and go above and beyond everyone. He will always be an inspiration to us.
His presence is still felt through his parents Tom and Dorothy, his brother Phil [Laurie] and sisters Ellen [Steve], Jan [Dave] and Kelly [Greg] his seven children Christopher [Stephanie], Steven [Emily], Sabrina [Jason], Christina, Gloria [Allan], Cassie [Chaz] and Kenny [Daisy], his eight grandchildren, his Significant Other Dedra, his numerous aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Phillip and Alice Showalter, his maternal grandparents Okey and Mabel Ingram, his mother Barbara, and his brother Christopher.
No service will be held, his remains will be kept by his family. Ron was the type of person who was always available whenever he was needed by a family member, friend or acquaintance. He put the other person above himself and as a result was a man who was loved by the many who knew him. He will be missed. No matter where life takes us, Ron will be with us, happy, healthy and full of energy.
