Ronald Irving Whiting

Ronald Irving Whiting, 58, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017. He was born in Chicago, IL to the late JC Whiting and Naomi (Starks) Whiting. Ron graduated from Marion-Franklin High School in 1975. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1981-1987. He co-owned and operated Ron's detail shop and was a bus driver for Reynoldsburg School District for many years. Ron enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his sisters, Martha Cheryl Whiting and Melvilyn Joyce (Leo) Gulley and brother, Wilbert Whiting, Sr. He is survived by his children, Ronald L. Whiting and Raina Felder; sisters, Rosenita (Harry) Proctor and Myrtice (Clarence) Gray; brother, John C. (Audrey) Whiting; long time significant other, Sharon Hayes; step-children, Raymond Hayes, Demetria Hayes, LaTasha Hayes; numerous step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Kobacker House and staff for taking great care of Ron. Family will receive friends 6-8pm Friday at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday, February 18, 2017. Interment to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kobacker House.
