Ronnie Ernest Byrum, Sr., age 73 of Orient, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 15, 2011. Ronnie was born in Mohegan, West Virginia, son of the late Mary and Cullie Byrum. At a young age, Ronnie met Barbara, the love of his life at a local skating rink. The two of them were soon married, began their family, and were blessed to share in 51 years of marriage together. Ronnie was a wonderful man who always took great care of his entire family. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether he was hunting or fishing, liked to spend time at Beulah Park working with the horses, and also took much pride in the large garden he grew each year. He told great stories, remembered hundreds of jokes, but most of all, he loved to spend time with his children. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Barbara Byrum; children, Rhonda (David) Meade, Ronnie Jr. (Anita), Mark (Ida), Bart (Amy), and Warren Byrum; 10 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Donna McCoy and Lucy (Jim) Pack; brother, Ralph (Sharon) Byrum; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday, May 20, 2011 at Grove City Cemetery, 3605 Grove City Rd. Family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway. To share memories or condolences, please visit www.schoedinger.com.
