

Roxie Ellen (Frasure) Barr passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 at Berger Hospital. She was the daughter of Clarence and Georgia Alice (Shaeffer) Frasure from Oakland, Ohio. She grew up there and had many stories to tell about growing up on the farm, the Great Depression, and World War II. She started school at Oakland and graduated from Stoutsville High School in 1942. After graduation, she began working at the Fairfield County Court House, making consistency reports of 4H clubs who had gotten A’s and B’s on 4H projects. She later worked at the Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance in Columbus before marrying Ralph Barr in 1946. She then went back to work as a Status Medical Record Technician for Grant Hospital for 25 years.
She was proceeded in death by her husband of 70 years, Ralph Barr, who passed away February 11, 2017, as well as her brothers Melvin, Maynard, and Verne. Left to mourn is her loving family Dean (Pat) Barr, James (Karin) Barr, and Joyce Ann (John) Butts. She was adored by her grandchildren Angie, Laurie, Erin, Corey, Timothy, Stephen, Jenny, Jason, and Jared as well as by her great-grandchildren, Michayla, Trey, Jaidyn, D.J., Lily, Austin, Cameron, Emilee, Sadie, Tucker, Stella, Ellie and Sophie.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 23, 5-8pm at Defenbaugh- Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, located at 151 East Main St. Circleville, Ohio. Funeral service will be Friday, February 24 at Village Chapel UMC, located at 30 Circleville Ave. Ashville, Ohio at 11:00 am. Visitation will be one hour before the service, with Pastor Kevin Pees officiating. Burial will follow at the Reber Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the Village Chapel United Methodist Church or Berger Hospice, located at 600 North Pickaway Street Circleville, Ohio.
