

Ruth E. Shealy, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Riverside Hospital. An avid Ohio State University Buckeye fan, she also was a 1947 graduate of the Mt. Sinai School of Nursing and retired from nursing in 1947 to raise a family. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Upper Arlington and the Church’s Bible Circle. She is preceded in death by her mother, Anna Stair and father, Carl Geller; her husband of 52 years, James Shealy; son, Chris; and half-brother, Carl Geller. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Shealy; son, Kim (Kelli) Shealy; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Sutton; grandchildren, Julie (Todd) Speakman, Andrea, Kristen, and Kyle Shealy, and Alex Cruea; great-grandchildren, Cory and Kyleigh Speakman; sister, Joanne (Robert) Gunderman; half-brothers, Herb, Chet Geller; and many nieces and nephews, including Sheryl, Dana and Jimmy. Ruth was the most honest, unselfish, giving individual and will be missed by her family and many many friends locally and throughout the country. Family will receive friends Monday, February 21, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, and again Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m., Rev. Dr. Tracy Keenan, officiating. The graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Kingwood Memorial Park, 8230 Columbus Pike (Route 23), Lewis Center.
