Ruth J. Simpson

Ruth J. Simpson, age 81, of Columbus passed away on Monday, February 1, 2010 at Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio. Ruth was born on June 5, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Robert and Edith Jones. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rig Simpson. Ruth enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She spent her time working on crossword puzzles and playing cards. In her later years Ruth traveled with various groups. She was a devote member of Christ Presbyterian, where she helped in several different groups and associations. Ruth was an active mom as her children were growing up, spending time organizing each group they were involved in. She is survived by her loving children, Linda (Brian Johnson) Simpson, Bob Simpson and Nancy (Paul) Heischman; grandchildren, Cassie, April, Bridget, Carrie, Erin and Alex; great grandchildren, Dominique, Rigdon and Destini; brother, Donald Jones; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends on Friday, February 5, 2010 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229. Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 10am at Christ Presbyterian Church, 4220 Cleveland Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43224. Reverend Pam Patterson officiating.
