Ruth Anne Stein

Ruth Anne (Mehrle) (James) Stein, age 77, of Groveport, Ohio died peacefully of lung and brain cancer on Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Kobacker House. Ruthie also had a bout with breast cancer from 2005-2006. Ruthie was a secretary for Rockwell International (Boeing) with 32 years of service. Graduate of Columbus Central High School, Class of 1955. Preceded in death by son, Scott Kirk James; parents, John Dennis and Mary Gertrude (Agin) Mehrle; brother, John Fredric Mehrle, and brother-in-law, Ralph Williams. Survived by husband of 31 years, John David Stein; sister, Marilyn Williams and sister-in-law, Joyce Mehrle; grandchildren, Nicole Rene Vos of Zanesville and Jeremy Scott James; great-grandchildren, Kirstin, Kaden, Kaylynn, and Kiley; John's children, David (Julie) Stein and Sharrie Lynn Pickett; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Ruthie was a pretty fair bowler, and she loved to fish Ann Louise Lake at Blaney Park in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (she never did learn to put a night crawler on the hook). She loved to spend time at their cottages in Curtiss, Michigan, loved to dance, and loved researching her family history. If you asked, she could tell you! Family will receive friends 2-4pm and 6-8pm Friday at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral service will be held at 10 am Saturday, October 11, 2014. Interment to follow at Grove City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ruthie's memory to The American Cancer Society, 5555 Frantz Rd., Dublin, Ohio 43017.
