Ryan Andrew Murphy, age 40, of Upper Arlington, Ohio, died peacefully at Nationwide Children's Hospital on Monday, January 7, 2019. Ryan was born with Cerebral Palsy on July 11, 1978 to Pam and Roger Murphy. Although he may have had limitations, he brought immense love and joy to everyone that met him. His parents were adamant that he have a quality life, and so it began when they invited hundreds of volunteers, from Annehurst and the Westerville area, to come into their home and help them with a physical therapy program called "patterning". As Ryan grew, he attended the Franklin County MRDD program where he graduated from West Central. His last experience was with YAS West a Goodwill day program. Ryan's life may not have been the one his family expected but turned out to have more purpose than anyone could imagine. Ryan taught his family, friends, neighbors and community about the essence of being a human being. He taught them to love, be patience, have determination, be humble and to be grateful for health and mind. He was an inspiration to all. Ryan was preceded in death by his father, Roger. He is survived by his mother, Pam and significant other, Tim Bainbridge; sisters, Nicole (Ryan) Braet and Brooke (John) Brock; nieces and nephews, Carter, Sophie, Emerson and Cooper Braet, JR, Tommy and Lois Brock. His family wishes to thank everyone that has come into their lives due to Ryan. Some of these include: Dr. Lucas (Complex Care Children's Hospital), Dr. Blackburn (family doctor), Linda Billardello (PT), Susie Burnheimer, Lakisha Scales-Walton, Anita Clarke (care providers), Art Longoria (nurse), and everyone at Nationwide Children's Hospital that treated Ryan with love and respect.
