

Sandra Hohenstein Braden, age 70, of Upper Arlington, passed away
unexpectedly Sunday, January 2, 2011 at her daughter’s home in Cary,
North Carolina with her family by her side. She was born June 24, 1940 in Chillicothe, Ohio, the daughter of late Carl V. and Hazel (Lemley) Hohenstein. Sandra was a nuclear medicine technologist with Ohio Health, retiring as Director of the Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound Departments following 40 plus years of service. She was also preceded in death by her husband John W. Braden in 2005 and brother, Carl Hohenstein and his wife Martha. Sandra was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished the time she spent with her family. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Lisa Braden Queen; grandson, Connor Braden Queen; granddaughter, Lauren Elisabeth Queen; several nieces and nephews and many close friends. She was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1958 and received an Associate Degree from Case Western Reserve University, formerly known as Case Institute of Technology. Sandra was member of Broad Street Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the Children’s Ministry. In her later years, she attended Covenant Presbyterian Church, Upper Arlington. She was also active in several professional organizations including being on the Board of Directors for COSNMT. In addition, she was a volunteer with Kinder Key and the Junior Women’s League. A breast cancer survivor, Sandra was able to participate in The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure run this past spring with her daughter and grandchildren. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Thursday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2011. Rev. Ann Palmerton officiating. Graveside Service and Interment 12:00 p.m. Friday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Susan G.
