

Shirley R. Boring, 90, of Gahanna, passed away peacefully at home on December 7, 2021. She was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania on July 6, 1931, to Harry and Ida (Reynolds) Ross. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Richard (Lottie) Ross of Johnston, PA.
Shirley was a long-time member of Mountview Church in Upper Arlington. She enjoyed volunteering at Riverside Methodist Hospital for many years. She was a wonderful homemaker and wife and took pride in her family. Shirley loved the outdoors, which included many camping trips with the family. She also liked hiking, skiing, and beach time. Shirley shared a passion for quilting with her daughters, Liz and Lori, and spent countless creative hours sewing with them.
Shirley will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 69 years, Marvin Boring; her three daughters, Liz (Henry) Staley of Suwanee, GA, Lori (Don) Klayman of Hoschton, GA, and Mindy (Stephen) Richard of Reynoldsburg, OH. Shirley is also survived by eight grandchildren: Jamie (Dana) Staley, David (Erin) Staley, Keenan (Sarah) Klayman, Philip (Anna) Klayman, Aimee (Eric) Williams, Angela (Tony) Forino, Carrie (Stefan) Channels, and Jeremy Richard, plus 17 great grandchildren.
Services for Shirley will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley's memory may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio.
