Stephen L. Willey

Stephen Lowell Willey, 68, passed away unexpectedly July 24, 2025 in Hilliard OH. He was born March 18, 1957 in Columbus OH, the only child of the late Gerald Amos Willey and Marilyn Lorraine Harris Willey, both originally from Morgan county in southeast Ohio.

He graduated from Ohio State in 1982 with a degree in Business Administration, majoring in accounting. He worked for Lennox Industries in the 1980s, advancing to the position of Accounts Payable Supervisor. Lately he had worked for HeartLight Pharmacy Services as a delivery driver. He volunteered for his church and for the Pathway Clubhouse, which provides psychosocial rehabilitation to those with mental health issues. In May he attended an international conference of the organization in Tampa FL.

Stephen was a kind and gentle soul who struggled with and overcame family strife and mental health issues. He found his alternative family at the Guide Church-North Campus, becoming a deacon. He read his Bible daily and practiced his selfless faith even on the day he died when he was providing transportation to a blind parishioner in his church.

Visitation will be at the Schoedinger Northwest,1740 Zollinger Rd Columbus OH Monday Aug 11, 2025 from 5-8 pm. Funeral service will be at the Guide Church-North Campus, 4770 Britton Pkwy, Hilliard OH Tuesday Aug 12, 2025 at 10:30 am. Burial will be private at Union Cemetery Columbus OH.
