Sue was born to Tom and Rosemary Seckel on July 30, 1941. She lived in Columbus and Bexley her entire life. Educated in the Columbus schools, she was a graduate of Eastmoor High School class of 1959 where she was a varsity cheerleader and recipient of the Outstanding Dramatist Award her senior year. She was Honored Queen of Bexley Bethel 32 of the International Order of Job’s Daughters. She studied ballet for many years as a pupil of Jorg Fastig. She attended Miami University and the Ohio State University. She worked at The Union Company where she was a buyer of children’s clothing. She married Andy Holstein on Feb. 6, 1965 at Brookwood Presbyterian Church and paused to raise her family. She was active as a volunteer at her children’s Bexley schools and at Franklin Park Conservatory. During this time she was also active in The Childhood League. Eventually she returned to full-time work as Volunteer Co-coordinator at Franklin Park. Sue and her family loved boating and fishing and enjoyed years of happy times at Huron, Ohio on Lake Erie, in Islamorada in the Florida Keys, at their cabin at Helen Lake, Ontario, and at their log cabin at Indian River, Michigan. She was a member of The Columbus Country Club and the Indian River Golf Club. Sue is survived by her husband of 53 years Gary A. (Andy) Holstein, her daughter Heidi, her son and daughter-in-law Tom and Amy Holstein, and Hank, her beloved dog. Also surviving are her sister Sally Seckel Wilson and her husband Paul, her brother Mark Seckel and his wife Diane, and her brother-in-law Richard (Dick) Holstein. Singing her praises forever are special cousins and adoring nieces and nephews. Sue’s glass was always half-full and she shared this positivity with everyone she ever met.
