Sylvia D. Brown

Sylvia Denise Brown, age 53 of Columbus, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 30, 2010. Sylvia was a twin born in Wiesbaden, Germany to Else Anna Jenkins and the late Richard T. Jenkins. Preceded in death her sister, Regina Marie Jenkins and sister-in-law, Mary Margaret Barton. Sylvia was employed for 35 years by White Castle Systems. As a General Manager, she supervised and provided great leadership. Sylvia Brown, a lively person, took pride enriching the lives of others. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. Sylvia and Bert’s home, also known as the family’s resort, became the place for family gatherings. Sylvia took great pride in her home and loved to entertain family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 25 years, Helbert “Bert” Brown, Jr.; children, Marika Jenkins, James Harris, Krystal and Margaret Brown; mother-in-law, Mary E. Brown; siblings; Shirley Murphy of Nevada, Riccarda Jenkins (Barry) of Tennessee, Janet Jenkins, Cynthia Black (twin), Richard (Paula) Jenkins, Sheila (Trey) Canada, Lori Jenkins (Walter) of Michigan, James Jenkins, Karl (Tawanda) Jenkins, Nicole (Randy) Blakeney of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Remona (Darrell) Freelon and Tammey Brown; Aunt Jane Monegain, Aunt Janet & Uncle Charles Harris; and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Family will receive friends from 5-8 P.M. Thursday, May 6, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where funeral service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday, May 7, 2010. Rev.
