

Sylvia Adkison Johnson, age 90, died Friday, February 8, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 1, 1928 in Columbus to Jesse and Beatrice Adkison. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James H. Johnson; parents; sisters, Vera Redmond and Patricia Murphy; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sherburn and Margaret Johnson. She is survived by her children, Christine Johnson, Jenifer (George) Peponis; Mindy (Randy) Rausch; James (Angela) Johnson, and Scott (Pam Harrison) Johnson; grandchildren, Tom (Margaret) Peponis, George (fiancee, Kari Chambers) Peponis, Eric (Kathy) Johnson, Peter Peponis, Dustin (Brittany) Rausch, Brad (Dorothy) Johnson, Josh Johnson, Caleb Drennon and Ashley Sowell; great grandchildren, Tom, Norah, and James; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She loved her rescued dogs and cats, grandchildren, charcoal sketches, words, gardening, knitting, baking, the library, singing, the symphony, music especially blues and swing, nature and the outdoors especially Lake Hope, Blacklick Woods, and Camp Wyandot and her neighbors. Sylvia always had time at her kitchen table for coffee and conversation (and Scrabble if you were so inclined). A graveside service will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Green Lawn Cemetery, 1001 Greenlawn Avenue arrangements by Heart and Hope Funeral Home by Schoedinger.
