Ted Gayle Lucas

Ted Gayle Lucas, 80, of Bridgeport, Ohio, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 24th, 2021 at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation and Care Center. He was born August 25th, 1940, to Orval H. and Regina E. (Gardener) Lucas. He was a wonderful loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Ted loved watching all sports, especially the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns. He was an avid fisherman whose favorite fishing spot was at Rice Lake in Ontario, Canada. Ted loved his Catholic faith and was one of the 50 founding families who founded The Church of the Resurrection in New Albany, Ohio. He will be remembered as a kind and gracious friend to all and will be missed by everyone.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Nancy Jane Lucas (nee Hohman); his parents; his son-in-law Jimmy Miller; and his brothers-in-law Thomas H. Hoyt and John W. Sikora. He is survived by his son, Ted A. Lucas (Victoria G.) of Columbus Ohio; daughter Gail M. Lucas (Jimmy); granddaughters Trinity Miller, Liberty Miller, and Serenity Miller; paternal grandmother Deb Savage of Newark Ohio, and sisters Sharon L. Hoyt and Patricia A. Sikora.

Visitation will take place at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST Funeral Home, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, from 9:00am - 10:00 am on Saturday, July 3, 2021. Mass will follow at The Church of the Resurrection in New Albany Ohio, beginning at 11:00am. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
