

Ted Leon Smith, age 77, went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 22, 2016 at Willow Brook Christian Home. He was born in Lancaster, Ohio on June 2, 1938. He graduated from Linden McKinley in 1956 and went into the Army. He went to work for UPS and retired after 36 years. Ted had 23 wonderful years of retirement. He loved playing golf and playing cards. Ted had a great group of guys who met on Tuesday's and Thursday's to do just that. He enjoyed traveling and spent a lot of time in Myrtle Beach and Phoenix, AZ. Ted loved his Bou-Re club and all the good friends he made there. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Bonna (Rutter) Smith; three children, Ricki Pintell, Scott Raymond and Nikole Loew; 7 grandchildren, Krista, Michael, Andrea, Christopher, Jessica, Parris and Yazmin; 9 great-grandchildren, Ian, Leni, Ali, Kellen, Kendall, Morgan, Kailin and Killian; and a sister, Noralee Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nevin and Lucille Smith; two sons, Ted Douglas and Christopher. Ted was a dedicated member of Genoa Baptist Church. He really struggled with his health this past year. But in his usual manner, he never complained. What a kind, sweet and wonderful man. He always had a positive attitude and never looked at the negative side of anything. His family will miss his loving, calm, quiet presence but he is home in the loving arms of Jesus. Family will receive friends, Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High Street. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2016 at Genoa Baptist Church, 7562 Lewis Center Road, Westerville, OH where family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Kingwood Memorial Park in Lewis Center.
