Teddy Roberts

Teddy was born on May 27, 1958, to the late Ira and Mary Roberts in Williamson, West Virginia.

Teddy met Sharon in Cincinnati, Ohio in the early 1980’s. They would marry in 1982, and started a family in 1983 in Wisconsin, where they had three children. Later moving to Columbus, Ohio to raise their family. Teddy worked in auto glass and mechanics. Teddy was top in both these fields and loved tinkering with any vehicle he saw, especially a truck. There wasn’t much you couldn’t ask him about a car or a truck that he didn’t know. Many times, you could find half an engine or a project on the kitchen floor. Those who knew Teddy, knew he was a strong headed, old school, hardworking, get your hands dirty no-nonsense kind of man. He was also the kind of man that would lend a helping hand to just about anyone. Later in life Teddy mostly enjoyed his scrapping and tinkering hobby. Riding around scrapping with his dogs. Spending time with his family, making memories with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Teddy was preceded in death by his son, Clayton Roberts; Brothers, Ira Roberts, Roger Roberts, sister Judy Dexter.

Teddy is survived by his wife, Sharon Roberts, daughter, Mary (JT) Doodley; son, Teddy (Derrick Jackson) Roberts, grandson Jackie (JJ) Doodley, granddaughter Julia Doodley, brothers, David Roberts, Ernest Roberts, Clayton Roberts, sister Julie (Ken) winters along with many other relatives and friends.

Family will accept friends on Thursday, April 6, 2023, from 10:00am to 11:00am at Advantage by Schoedinger North, 5554 Karl Rd, Columbus with Funeral Services to follow at 11:00am. Teddy will be laid to rest next to his son at Fernwood Cemetery.
