Thad E Helfer

October 25, 1944 – July 1, 2025

Thad Edward Helfer, 80, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on July 1, 2025.

He is survived by his devoted Wife of nearly 42 years, Sandra; his Daughters Kimi and Ellen; his Stepchildren Roy and Taunua; his Brothers Dean (Kathy) and Keith (Marie); many cherished Nieces, Nephews, Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, one Great Great Grandchild, and countless Friends who were touched by his kindness, humor, and generosity.

Thad was preceded in death by his Parents, Arthur and Ellen, his Stepson Robert, and several beloved Aunts and Uncles.

Thad worked as a production manager at Capital Business Forms. He found joy in caring for his Koi pond, gardening, cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns, and golf. Spending time outdoors, and volunteering was also a passion. He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 2252 and supported children’s charities throughout his life.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Advantage by Schoedinger North, 5554 Karl Rd, Columbus, OH 43229. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with a procession to Kingwood Memorial Park, 8230 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, OH 43035.

A special thank you to his Granddaughter Rachele for being by his side in his final moments.

Thad’s legacy of love, laughter, and quiet generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
