

Thelma Ann Brown, 89 went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 14, 2017. She was born on May 10, 1927 to the late Herman and Adele (Strother) Henderson. Thelma graduated from Columbus Central High School. She married George Brown in 1953, and they had two daughters. She continued her education after marriage and graduated from Franklin University with a degree in Business Administration, majoring in accounting. Thelma later attended Xavier University and received her MBA. Thelma retired from Banc Ohio National Bank after many years of service. She was an active member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church. She served on Session, The Deacon Board, Trustee Board, and various committees. She also served 15 years as church treasurer. Thelma enjoyed preaching on occasion as a Certified Lay Preacher. One of Thelma's greatest joys was singing in the Chancel Choir. Thelma is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, George Brown; siblings Priscilla and Herman Henderson. She is survived by daughters, Terri (David) Woode and Toria (Kennedy Edwards) Brown; grandsons, Robert and Jarred; great-grandchildren, Audrina and Carter; nephew, Mark Henderson; niece, Angela (Rudolph) Smith; and many other relatives. Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus, OH 43232. A funeral service will be on Friday January 20, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Bethany Presbyterian Church, 206 N Garfield Ave Columbus, OH 43203 with entombment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
