

Thomas W. McElhone, 75 of Ashville passed away on September 1, 2021. Tom was born September 12, 1945, to Thomas and Ethel (Baker) McElhone in Perth Amboy, NJ. Tom graduated from Conrad High School in Wilmington, DE in1963. He married his wife, Linda M. Gasull on July 12, 1969. On September 15, 2010, Tom and Linda moved to Ohio to be closer to their daughter and granddaughter.
After high school graduation, Tom played bass guitar in the band The Avengers. In the 1970’s and 1980’s Tom played bass guitar in the band Countryside.
Tom worked in sales his entire career including electronics sales for Wholesale electronics from 1969-1980, Radio Shack (Tandy) store manager from 1981 – 1993 and retired from a print sales position in 2007.
Tom started his DJ business in the late 1980’s. In the radio world Tom was known to many as DJ Mac Thomas, both online and in live shows. His live shows included the East Coast Indoor Nationals, the largest indoor car show on the east coast, in Timonium, MD; Kahunaville car cruise in Wilmington, DE; Syracuse Nationals Ol’Skool Round Up in Syracuse, NY; Pumpkin Run in Mays Landing, NJ; Pumpkin Show in Circleville, OH; Culp Lake in Springfield, OH; Buena Vista NJ annual car show; Merchantville, NJ annual car show; The Little Big One (33 years) in New Castle, DE; and the monthly cruise in at Crosstown Creamery in Tarlton, OH. His radio shows include Let’s Go Cruisin’ on the University of Delaware’s radio station, WVUD, Kruizin’ America (as Mac Thomas) and Rockabilly Round Up (as the Rattlesnake) on Oldies 108.
Tom owned a 1954 Packard convertible, was a member and president of the Round Town Cruisers and a member of the Packard Club. Tom was also a Lay Leader of the East Ringgold United Methodist Church.
Tom is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda (Gasull) McElhone; Daughter Kim (Shaun) Morrison; grandchildren Marcy Hart, BreeAnna Morrison, and Shaun Morrison, Jr.; sister Lilian Schick and many nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Louise Cain and William A. McElhone.
Family will receive friends from 4pm-7pm on Monday September 6, 2021, at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home 151 East Main St. Circleville, OH 43113 and from 11am-12pm on Tuesday September 7, 2021 prior to a 12pm Funeral Service with burial following in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, OH.
